Festka XCr Stainless steel road bike 56 cm frame rim brake bicycle carbon wheels
For sale, my dream bike - Festka XCr. I have only ever seen one other XCr frame for sale making this listing quite special. The frame is made of XCr stainless steel. This is top of the range Columbus tubing - light, stiff yet comfortable often referred to as the magic carpet ride.
The tubes are oversized therefore the frame appears modern and visually pleasing. The colour is matte black with steel sections exposed on seatstays as well as chainstays. There is white lettering on the down tube and a logo on the head tube. The design is understated, the frame speaks for itself.Attention to detail may be evidenced by the derailleur hanger which is CNC-machined incl. The bottom bracket is in the PF-30 standard.
Unlike some carbon frames, the interface between steel shell and aluminum bottom bracket is perfectly round, weights less and doesnt squeak. The welds are the best I have ever seen on anything made of metal. The frame was handbuilt by a world-class builder. Enve fork is unpainted and matches the frame finish. It has a stealth logo.
Finishing things off is the legendary Chris King headset. Precise measurements are provided in one of the pictures. Geometry is based on a 56 cm Specialized Tarmac SL5 frame, although a classic horizontal top tube is retained. The frame is Di2 compatible, there are no mechanical shifting routing points. The bike is equipped with Dura-Ace groupset. Two holes were drilled by my mechanic in aluminium 3T bars to route wires internally. The Di2 port is hidden in bar end, the battery is mounted inside the seat tube, the second junction box in the down-tube. The entire setup is well-designed and executed, therefore front-end looks clean, with only brake cables visible. Di2 offers precise shifting every time and requires charging once a season. Prior to owning this bike I have only used mechanical groupsets but the advantages of electronic shifting are undeniable. The crankset is Praxis Zayante which I preferred over DA for its design. Finishing kit is 3T (stem, bar, seatpost) with some graphics removed to match the frame. The saddle is top of the line Fizik VS with carbon rails. Wheels are Farsports which are the recommended Far East option. They were built up with Bitex hubs and Sapim CX-Ray spokes. I rate them extremely highly. Ire choice has been Challenge Strada. The bike was built by Festka in Prague in 2016.This is one of four road/cx bikes in my possesion which means it has been used as a good weather, sunday loop machine. The technical condition of the bike is fantastic.
Over the course of my ownership I have not experienced any defects. One part has been replaced - a seat collar which was provided by Festka from Columbus (I have the original invoice) and put in place by a professional.The bike has never fallen over, been raced or repaired. The paint is original and it should be noted that there are some paint chips as the matte coat is quite thin.
I will provide detailed pictures to interested buyers to be 100% transparent. Please note that in the pictures provided, the bike has slightly different tires, seatpost and saddle. This listing is for the complete bike. I will consider reasonable offers for the frameset.
